Sometimes the best day you've ever had at the golf course has nothing to do with improving your handicap and everything to do with expanding your connections.

The Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce 61st Annual Golf Outing on Aug. 16, promises a day at the Kalamazoo Country Club, 1609 Whites Road, featuring two flights of golf, a tennis tournament and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

“A day at the Club is a day of fun while building your network,” said Bill Wingle, chair of the Chamber Golf Committee. “This year we’ve included some new offerings to round out the golfer’s experience.”

Business golf is a great way to build your network, find common interests, and solidify existing business relationships. The Chamber’s Golf Outing, now in its 61st year, is one of the best opportunities all year to meet other business people and spend more than a few moments with them. This is also a great way to reward your employees or entertain prospective clients.

The morning flight starts at 7:30 a.m. and the afternoon flight begins at 1 p.m. after lunch. With the pool opening at noon, morning golfers have the opportunity to network by the pool or play a game of tennis.

The tennis tournament will take place at 1:30 p.m. and there are three tennis courts available to practice and warm-up at noon before the tournament starts. Sign up with a partner or meet someone new by being paired up with them based on your skill level: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced (Be sure to note your level in the registration form).

The dinner reception is at 5:30 p.m. with heavy hors d'ouvres and raffle prizes as well as contest winners will be announced.
 
“This is the golf outing every area business needs to have on their calendar,” said Steward Sandstrom, CCE, president and CEO of the Chamber. “Whether it’s to secure business relationships, reward your employees, or even just to help drive business activity – a corporate package or even a foursome is an excellent way to do so.”   

Corporate packages are available for $920, which includes a foursome and a hole sponsorship. Golf foursomes are $720 and an individual golfer option is available at $200. Tennis individuals are $50 and a morning golf and afternoon tennis package is also available for $225.
