Young Professionals: Musical and Comedy Show

Hold on to your mullets! The Young Professionals return to Farmers Alley Theatre, bringing back THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL July 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Back by popular demand, “TRAILER PARK” delighted audiences last summer at Farmers Alley with its rock score, hilarious hair-dos and colorful costumes. The music is done by David Nehls and the book and lyrics is by Betsy Kelso.

Armadillo Acres in Starke, Florida is home to agoraphobic housewife Jeannie and her beer-guzzling husband Norbert. But there’s trouble in trailer paradise: Jeannie hasn’t left the doublewide in almost 20 years and Norbert is fed up! That’s when a gorgeous stripper named Pippi moves in next door and a love triangle ensues that would make Jerry Springer blush! Bringing back the original cast members that made last summer’s production such a hit, TRAILER PARK is sure to have you rolling in the aisles and reaching for that can of Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Tickets are $22.50 per ticket and are limited!

Upcoming Going Green Luncheon in the Fall

The Chamber partnered with the Southwest Michigan Sustainable Business Forum have extended an invitation to a high profile Director of Sustainability of one of the the state's major employer to serve as the keynote speaker at the Fall Green Choice luncheon.

The Green Choice Program in June of 2009 featured a guest speaker from Walmart at a similar luncheon. The goal of the event is to encourage local firms to engage in green and sustainable business practices and help raise the profile of the Southwest Michigan region as an area that supports this kind of activity. Sponsorships, corporate tables and individual tickets will be available.

$500 for a sponsorship table, $1,500 for a silver sponsorship rank and $2,500 for a gold sponsorship.

The hope is to also conduct a 30 minute reception for key sponsors to interact with the speaker just prior to the event. The date will be determined by the speaker’s availability. Watch for more details on the Chamber's website and newsletters.

The cost to attend the hour and a half luncheon will be about $40.

This is a great opportunity to be recognized for being a Green organization, learn how to better help the environment and encourage and share with others your own experiences and ideas.
